Join us at the Milwaukee Public Library's Central location in partnership with Docomomo Wisconsin for their “From the Archive” Lecture Series, featuring the daring mid-century modern work of Milwaukee architect, William P. Wenzler, FAIA. At just 27, Wenzler designed Wisconsin's first church with a hyperbolic paraboloid roof, consulting with renowned architect-engineer Felix Candela on its structural integrity. Over the next decade, Wenzler designed three more innovative churches, each with unique "hypar" roofs. This event will showcase a pop-up exhibition, lecture, and live drawing demo, exploring the origins, design, and global inspiration behind these cutting-edge structures. Attendees will also get a rare, hands-on look at Wenzler's sketches and structural drawings. A must-see for architects, engineers, and mid-century modern enthusiasts! 📅 Tuesday, October 29 ⏰ 5:00-8:00pm 📍 Milwaukee Public Library Central-Zeidler Humanities Room (2nd Floor) 814 W Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53233 🔗 Register: https://lnkd.in/gR2N862v
