Join us Friday, April 26, for the 2024 AIA Arizona Associates Gathering, an afternoon of programming and conversation that will explore convergence within the architecture & design profession. Topics will include the design process and sustainability in architecture, career development, and the path toward licensure. It’s so exciting to see the Contemplative Commons at University of Virginia nearing completion! This is one of my favorite projects because of the purpose, the team, and the place. 🧘♂️ What could be more inspiring that helping students flourish! Bringing people together to reflect, discuss, meditate, practice yoga and become more centered and resilient is such a great way to contribute to well-being. What’s even better is not only doing this it is own, but also integrating it into classes. 🤝 The team for this was terrific. We flexed and challenged each other in all the right ways to create a space that is programmatically and architecturally unique. Programming multipurpose spaces indoors and out while advancing learning, research, health, and wellness was an inspiring problem to solve together. 🍂 It’s always special to work for your alma matter and I’ve been lucky enough to do that about 20 times but this project was special somehow. The site at the Dell, the spirt of the place, the way it bridges and connects, the purpose, and the design somehow makes it mean more. I’m looking forward to seeing it in use and how it evolves! We are incredibly proud of our University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning alumni, Joshua Aidlin ‘94 and David Darling ‘88 of Aidlin Darling Design for being inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame. This remarkable duo not only achieved unparalleled status in advancing the human condition through design, but also serve as inspiring role models for our current and future generations of DAAP students. Expressing their gratitude, Aidlin and Darling share, “We feel incredibly blessed and honored to have recently joined the Interior Design Hall of Fame. It's humbling to be part of a small yet monumental group of designers, architects, and creatives who have long been heroes in the design world.” Joining Carlos M. As the year comes to a close, we reflect with gratitude on twenty five years of exploring, creating, collaborating, and making. Thank you to those who helped us celebrate this significant milestone. Hosted at the new Center for Design + Architecture, the celebration was a special gathering of builders, designers, clients, friends and family, all of whom played a part in our past twenty five years. Our work is a true reflection of this community. We look forward to sharing the next twenty five years!
