Yahya Sinwar was a cruel terrorist whose death represents a major milestone in Israel’s just war against Hamas barbarism. Backed by Iran, Sinwar was the mastermind of October 7 and directed the murder, torture, rape and kidnapping of over a thousand innocent Israelis. For 377 days, Sinwar has despicably held more than 101 people, including 7 Americans, hostage as he pursued his maniacal goal of destroying the Jewish state. Sinwar and Hamas' deliberate use of human shields is responsible for horrific death and destruction in Gaza. America must continue to stand with Israel as it works to drive Hamas from power in Gaza and confronts aggression from Iran and its terrorist proxies on seven fronts. This is a fight of civilization against barbarism. Those with leverage over Hamas, including Qatar and Turkey, must now increase the pressure on the group to surrender, free all the hostages, and bring this war to a close.

Welcome to the team, Zoe Benun!
I’m excited to announce that I’ve started a new position as Director of Sephardic Communities at AIPAC This moment feels especially meaningful, as I truly feel I’m where I’m meant to be. This past year has been the most challenging of my life, but it has also inspired me to contribute to my country in ways I never imagined possible. I look forward to strengthening American-Israeli relations and working to ensure the safety and security of Israel.

JOIN US TONIGHT! #RememberOctober7
On October 7, 2023, we awoke to a nightmare. The State of Israel, and all of us, were forever changed. The terrorists who broke a ceasefire, stormed through Israeli communities, and massacred 1,200 people left an entire nation devastated and mourning. One year later, the story of that horrific day is still being told. The horrors endured by the hostages. The courage of those who went to the front lines to battle the terrorists. The leaders in America who are still working to ensure Israel never stands alone and has the resources it needs to protect its families. AIPAC’s commemoration marking one year since October 7 will feature firsthand accounts of survivors, Israeli soldiers fighting Hamas in the streets and tunnels of Gaza, and residents who have been forced to flee their homes in the north after Hezbollah’s relentless attacks
