Did you know every 40 seconds someone in the US has a stroke? Recognize the signs with B-E-F-A-S-T— B - Loss of balance, coordination or dizziness E - Blurry and/or double vision F - Facial droop or uneven smile A - Arm numbness or weakness S - Slurred speech or difficulty speaking T - What time did symptoms begin? Welcome to the Baptist family, Dr. Yong (Andy) Tan! 🎉 Dr. Tan earned his medical degree from the University of Florida and completed his General Surgery Residency at the University of South Alabama. He further specialized in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern. Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Tan is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association. He has co-authored book chapters on coronary artery bypass grafting and sepsis, with research published in top medical journals. Originally from China and raised in Florida, Dr. Tan enjoys traveling, landscape photography, and spending time with his family. 💙 He is currently accepting new patients.
