In Richmond, Virginia, a sacred burial ground lies beneath an old gas station and a billboard. Matters surrounding this site have become even more urgent as recent archeological studies have discovered approximately 134 grave site indicators on the site where more than 20,000 people are laid to rest. The Shockoe Project invites the Richmond community to participate in crucial engagement sessions focused on gathering public input for the memorialization of this historic site: 📅 Sunday, August 25, 2-3:30pm @ The Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia 📅 Friday, September 20, 7-8:30pm via ZOOM For more information, visit https://lnkd.in/eJUW97mE

Buckle up! 🚗 When automotive repair titan and long-time partner, Midas, came to us for help designing a new workspace, our team put pedal to the metal to curate a palette that hums with industrial inspiration. This was the question Genworth, a long-term care financing and services firm, asked as they prepared to transition from their multi-building campus to a renovation-ready 1970s office building. The result prioritizes employee well-being with empathetic, dynamic design. The new Reber-Thomas Dining Center was recognized with four national awards from NACUFS, and we couldn’t be prouder! The project goal was to create a space that feels welcoming and intimate, giving students a new home to share meals. Using human-scale proportions and the familiar architectural style of the university, the design incorporates pockets for different dining experiences throughout and allows for large spaces for gathering.
