Taking a moment to admire the beautiful alter at St Luke Parish. The focus of the sanctuary is the gold leaf finished altar wall (reredos), which vertically connects the altar and existing clerestory windows with the newly commissioned crucifix. The ethereal gold leaf is bathed in natural light from the light well and accentuated with a regal blue wall covering on either side. The gold leaf is repeated as the backdrop for refinished statues of Mary & St. Joseph mounted on the blue wall as well as in two new prayer niches. #design #interiors #architecture #bassetti #bassettiarchitects

At Thomas Jefferson High School, in order to support a collegiate-like atmosphere, the classrooms are organized around open stairs and study spaces. While the old school design had separated learning communities, the new design deliberately avoids this in order to foster impromptu learning connections and collaborative opportunities among students. The student commons is lined with CTE programs to encourage and highlight hands-on learning. At various Tuition-free Montessori-inspired preschools, Bassetti performed feasibility studies on over a dozen existing sites. From this process several initial sites were chosen for build-out. While the design of each space is individualized to fit the existing building, each Montessori-inspired school features abundant daylighting, a variety of learning spaces for student engagement and play and kitchen space. Raisbeck Aviation High School (RAHS) was conceived as a response to Highline Public Schools’ deep desire to give students access to aeronautics and aviation professions, the school’s proximity to the aviation industry, and an educational vision that melds hands-on, project-based learning with academic rigor. The new 400-student STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) school enables students to flourish through co-location with the Museum of Flight and immersion in aerospace and aviation.
