Together we will create the conditions so that STEM learning environments are places where students and teachers feel they belong and can succeed in their classrooms, the field, and beyond. @Beyond100K believes radical collaboration across industry and sector is the key to ending the STEM teacher shortage with equity and belonging at the center.

We just read our strategic advisor Joaquin Tamayo's inspiring open letter to America’s education community, and it's a powerful call to action. Tamayo reminds us of the critical role educators, support staff members, administrators, and education advocates play in upholding democracy, as well as the unique challenges they face, from navigating AI's growing impact to addressing the urgent mental health needs of students. His message underscores the resilience and dedication of educators working to build a brighter future for every student—a future where they don’t just succeed but thrive, equipped with the skills and support they need to navigate an ever-evolving world.   This letter is a must-read for anyone passionate about the future of education, democracy, and the critical role teachers play in both. #Education #PublicEducation #FutureOfEducation #TeachersOfLinkedIn

The annual Partner Summit is the flagship event of our network's year, uniting leaders from Beyond100K partner organizations, ranging from science-driven institutions and school districts to education nonprofits and universities. And we are thrilled to have The UTeach Institute and #utdanacenter welcome us on the UT Austin campus for this year’s summit.    This is the one time each year when leaders from a diverse range of organizations, all committed to the goal of preparing 150k exceptional STEM teachers and solving the STEM teacher shortage, gather in one place.   It’s an opportunity for collaboration, exchanging ideas, learning from each other, and building the partnerships essential to addressing this challenging task, while also celebrating the progress we've achieved together.   The Summit offers unique opportunities for peer-to-peer learning, joint problem-solving, and forging meaningful relationships, encouraging innovation and collaboration. Additionally, it includes "lightning talks" from experts and thought leaders across various fields, aimed at expanding perspectives and inspiring our partners. We look forward to connecting. #ThinkBeyond

A Good Read: "The Science of Belonging and Connection" Belonging is more than just a feeling. It’s a critical foundation for student success. In "The Science of Belonging and Connection," Daniel Leonard highlights Stanford psychologist Geoffrey Cohen’s groundbreaking work on how a strong sense of belonging can transform student outcomes.   Cohen’s research reveals that when students feel disconnected, it can significantly impact their performance and well-being. But there’s hope. By implementing simple, research-backed strategies like social belonging exercises and values affirmation activities, educators can create environments where every student feels seen, supported, and valued.   Creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where every student feels like they matter is more important than ever. If you’re in education or just passionate about helping students thrive, this piece is a must-read. It’s packed with insights that can help you start making a real difference today.   Check it out and see how you can help foster that all-important sense of belonging! It's eclipse day! The moon will completely block our view of the sun for about three minutes. Educators, scientists, and enthusiasts hope its impact will be much greater. At a time when rates of anxiety are about 3x what they were pre-pandemic and amid growing concerns about social-media addiction, the solar eclipse is primeval awe, nature revealing itself in slow motion. If you feel like you’re moving at a million miles a minute and that thoughts of the future make you want to hide under the covers, the eclipse invites the opposite: to slow down, get outside, look up at the sky, and experience awe that transcends time and space yet is of a specific time and space. Awe slows our breathing down and lets us be in the moment. Grab people you love, grab your glasses, and don’t let this moment pass you by.
