Make recognition more meaningful and build a culture where people grow together.

About us

Recognition should do more than reward good work—it should fuel it. Bonusly’s employee recognition platform helps your team improve engagement and adopt the behaviors that set them, and your organization, up for long-term success. Unlike conventional programs that offer surface-level appreciation and transactional rewards, Bonusly combines meaningful recognition with performance tools to create lasting behavioral change and measurable results. Bonusly makes recognition more effective and improves employee growth, performance, and retention—creating a win-win for employees and employers alike. On average, Bonusly users receive recognition five times each month, providing leaders with valuable data about collaboration, performance, and team dynamics. Most organizations stop at simple thank-yous. With Bonusly, managers gain actionable insights to inspire their teams, drive growth, and ensure every employee feels engaged and empowered. With more than 3,400 companies—including DoorDash, Toast, Seat Geek, and Magna-Tiles—seeing better team performance and improved retention, we're proving what effective recognition can achieve. We make recognition meaningful, habitual, and connected to what matters most—helping organizations build cultures where people want to stay and grow together. Because when recognition is done right, everyone succeeds. PSA: Beware of scam messages regarding fake positions here at Bonusly. We will always reach out via email with an official first.last@bonus.ly email address. Please reach out to us directly if you have any questions.

  • We all know the feeling: that moment when a "gift" makes you wonder if your boss even knows you exist. 😬 Swipe to see 8 of the most cringeworthy examples of recognition gone terribly wrong. From tiny trinkets to truly tone-deaf gifts, these pics show the fine line between appreciation and... well, whatever the total opposite is. Do tired puns and generic swag really show your team you value them? 🤔 Ditch the empty gestures and cheap praise that make employees cringe—and make this the year you get #RecognitionDoneRight. • This has got to stop.🤦 We've been sharing examples of employee recognition gone wrong—where well-intentioned companies totally miss the mark when trying to show appreciation to their team. Nothing quite says "I value you" like handing your employee...a literal rock. 🪨 The thought is there. But "recognition" like this does much more harm than good. Do you have any of these rocks lying around? Or other "stuff" that didn't quite land? We'd love to hear them. 👇

  • Another day, another attempt at recognition gone astray. 😬 This time: a bag of hot air.💨 Literally. We get it. We all want to do more to celebrate our teams. But often, we don’t get support (or budget 💰) from leadership. Lackluster recognition like this is still done with a good heart. But getting #RecognitionDoneWrong is a risk too significant to ignore. What's the worst example of recognition you've seen? What's the best? Join the convo and make this the year you get it right. #RecognitionDoneRight #RecognitionDoneWrong

"We don't need Employee of the Month, we need Employee of the Moment. Besides, I've never met someone that’s stayed in their job just to get their five-year pin.” 🌟 Employee recognition is a workplace expectation. And no one knows this better than Dr. Bob Nelson, the creator of Employee Appreciation Day and one of the world’s foremost experts on employee recognition. As Employee Appreciation Day approaches, we sat down with Dr. Bob to discuss how organizations can move beyond outdated, surface-level tactics and build recognition programs that truly drive engagement, motivation, and performance. 📽️ [WATCH] In this clip, Dr. Bob stresses that the sooner you recognize great performance, the more impact it has. 👇 Check out the full article for five key principles to doing recognition right: https://hubs.ly/Q039xNV70

That’s why they’ve built recognition into their daily routines: ▪️ Bonusly + Slack integration lets the team react, comment, and celebrate wins in real time. ▪️ All-hands mic time ensures everyone gets a moment to recognize their peers. ▪️ Festivus celebration (yes, really!) gives the whole team a stage to share gratitude. As Jessica Begley, COO, says: "It's a wonderful way to see how people really care, collaborate, and recognize one another for their efforts." How does your team do recognition right? It’s woven into the company culture because employees show up, contribute, and make an impact every single day. 💚 And that impact deserves to be seen, celebrated, and appreciated all year long. As Todd Wuestenberg, Chief Culture Officer, puts it: "I love celebrating our people, but I hate when companies treat Employee Appreciation Day as just a box to check. At Haverkamp, every day is Employee Appreciation Day." Is your team, like Haverkamp Properties, cultivating a culture where appreciation isn’t just a single day, it is every day?
