Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands' Scholarship Luncheon presented by LinkedIn. The Clubs’ Scholarship Program awards alumni and current high school seniors who are active Club members, planning to attend an accredited two- or four-year college, university, vocational or trade school. Since 2016, 156 Club graduates have received Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands scholarships, including 94 first generation scholars. In total, $2,371,047 dollars has been invested in our next generation. This year’s Scholarship Luncheon featured a panel discussion led by current Scholarship Program participants and moderated by Scholarship & Success Committee member, Ande Johnson. On Friday, June 7th, nearly 500 Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands supporters gathered at Steelhouse Omaha for our annual fundraiser, On the Road. This year's event, On the Road to Cirque Du Club, featured Club member talent show acts and performances from Omaha Circus Arts. With the support of our Honorary Chair, Bridges Trust we were able to raise over $1,000,000 to support the youth in our community! Thank you to Jack Keenan from KETV for being our emcee and ringmaster. A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored, donated and attended On the Road. Your generosity ensures thousands of kids and teens have a safe, fun and educational place to go after school and in the summer. Thank you to WoodmenLife for their recent donation of $1,000 to our Carter Lake Boys & Girls Club Keystone Club! Keystone Club provides leadership development opportunities for Club teens. Members participate in activities in three focus areas: academic success, career preparation and community service. The Carter Lake Keystone Club raises money throughout the year with various fundraisers. Funds raised from these events allow members to take a trip over summer break. Last August, six teens went to Minneapolis, Minnesota where they were able to attend a Twins baseball game, visit Mall of America, Valleyfair Amusement Park and a local Boys & Girls Club.
