This week, the Nexans Aurora Cable Laying Vessel stopped at our facility in Chalreston, SC to pick up the export cable for Ørsted’s Revolution Wind! She has just docked in Providence, RI, ready to lay the first section of two parallel high voltage subsea cables that will travel roughly 40 miles across the ocean floor. The cables stretch from a substation offshore to a substation on land in Rhode Island. Her turntable, the big rotating basket on the back that carries the export cable, is currently full of over 55 miles of export cables or approximately 7,326 metric tons! Revolution Wind, when completed will supply Connecticut and Rhode Island with 704MW of electricity, enough to power 350,000 homes. #offshorewind #renewableenergy #electrification #electrifythefuture #usa

Bushy Park presented to over 80 educators from Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties during the STEMersion 2024 Event. This annual week-long event allows for educators to meet with industry and discuss workforce educational needs. A great program and a huge thank you to our educators for all they do with our local students! A big thank you to Nexans USA for hosting the event at Bushy Park.
