There’s always a first time! ✨ I had a fantastic time at the California Association of Sanitation Agencies Winter Conference this week. 🎶 The Times They Are A-Changin’ 🎵—and this year has already brought significant developments, with even more on the horizon. As our industry navigates rapidly evolving trends and challenges, staying informed is more important than ever. The CASA Conference provided a valuable platform to stay ahead, covering everything from AI to the future of biosolids and beyond. It was a privilege to connect with and learn from peers and industry trailblazers. A special highlight was having the opportunity to spend time with my mentor and gain invaluable insights from their experiences, made possible through CASA Mentorship Program. What do City of Santa Rosa, City of San Luis Obispo, and City of San José have in common this week?  🤔 They all hosted the California Association of Sanitation Agencies (CASA) Workshops, organized in partnership with the Water Technology Alliance! 💧 These workshops brought together water professionals from the U.S. and Denmark to exchange ideas, discuss solutions, and explore innovations in wastewater treatment. The sessions focused on optimizing treatment processes, particularly nutrient removal and air quality-driven objectives, offering valuable insights and practical learning through real-life examples. Key highlights from the workshops: 👉 DHI and GRUNDFOS shared Danish expertise on advanced wastewater treatment. 👉 NISSEN energy a/s delivered a presentation on sustainable energy production while also staying compliant. 👉 Aarhus Vand presented a case study on nutrient removal, emissions reduction, and energy optimization, and discussed Denmark's journey to transforming wastewater treatment plants into resource recovery facilities.   👉 California Association of Sanitation Agencies and HDR presented on nutrient removal and covered air quality-driven objectives.    Participants had the chance to network during sessions that allowed both U.S. and Danish participants to strengthen partnerships and exchange knowledge. Hearing perspectives from both sides helps bridge gaps in understanding and encourages the development of  adaptable solutions that benefit the water sector on both sides of the Atlantic.  A huge thank you to all the participants and to our partners - NISSEN energy a/s, GRUNDFOS, DHI, HDR, and Aarhus Vand for their contributions, and to California Association of Sanitation Agencies for hosting these three exceptional workshops! 👏 #DenmarkinUSA #WorkingforDenmark #WaterTechnology #KnowledgeExchange
