  • Our Public Affairs team participated in an inspiring Policy Roundtable on Due Diligence in Brussels this week. Co-hosted by Policy Hub, Social & Labor Convergence Program (SLCP), Fair Wear Foundation, and amfori - Trade with Purpose, it was very well attended by policymakers from the European Parliament, representatives of different Directorates at the European Commission, as well as key brands, manufacturers, and stakeholders. The roundtable hosts launched the Handbook for Due Diligence Implementation in the Textile Sector, a ground-breaking resource that highlights existing tools, identifies gaps, and emphasizes the need for a collaborative and holistic approach to tackle the complexities of global value chains. Gabriele Ballero Muñoz, our Public Affairs Manager amplified member and especially manufacturer voices and ensured their perspectives and challenges are heard and understood. Clear and practical guidelines are crucial for implementing #CSDDD in the textile sector. Check out the handbook to learn more!

Practical and clear guidelines are essential to implementing the #CSDDD in the textile sector. Yesterday at a Policy Roundtable in Brussels, we launched a ‘Handbook for Due Diligence Implementation in the Textile Sector’, co-authored by Policy Hub, Social & Labor Convergence Program, Fair Wear Foundation, and amfori - Trade with Purpose. The Handbook outlines the textile industry’s existing tools and guidance, and identifies the gaps where further clarification is needed. It builds on the potential for collaboration and the importance of a #holistic and multidimensional understanding of the issues to be considered for the implementation of CSDDD. It reinforces the principle that due diligence is based on meaningful conversations that reflect the complexities of the global #textile value chain. The dialogue does not end here, and we remain committed to further advancing and deepening our understanding of the realities of the global textile sector. Want to know more? Have a look at the #handbook linked below!
