Despite challenging market conditions in Thailand, CGS International Securities Thailand (CGS TH) has expanded its margin loan book more than five times from S$40 million (THB1.08 billion) in 2020 to S$226 million (THB6.1 billion) in 2024. Led by Pakavat Pisuthipan, Acting Head of Retail Services of CGS TH, this success is the result of a bold, strategic shift and effective localised initiatives, including streamlined client onboarding and tailored schemes to reduce client costs and enhance engagement. Looking ahead, CGS TH targets further expansion through 2025 and beyond.

The philanthropic and ESG landscape has been evolving over the past decade, with a shift towards impact investing and sustainable financing. Tabitha Hui, CGS International’s Associate Director of Sustainability Services, joined the panel on The Evolving Role of #FamilyOffices in Philanthropy and ESG at the Philanthropy and ESG Forum organised by EY, Orbis Hong Kong and Asia Family Office Foundation. Indonesia’s retail investor market has grown rapidly, with millennials and Gen Z leading the charge. Catering to this demographic, CGS International Sekuritas Indonesia (CGS ID) has partnered with BMoney.id, a leading fintech platform, to provide seamless access to equities, mutual funds, and fixed-income products. A key aspect of this collaboration was the integration of CGS International’s #iTrade platform application programming interface into the #BMoney fintech application. Since launching in April 2023, the collaboration, spearheaded by Rangga Pratama, has resulted in the acquisition of over 7,300 new clients. This partnership highlights CGS ID’s commitment to innovation and growth in Indonesia’s expanding retail market.

At the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) in Baku last month, government negotiators launched the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism, also known as the Article 6.4 mechanism, by endorsing a centralised United Nations (UN) standard to guarantee the quality of carbon transactions made between countries and companies. This decision marks a major step forward in a debate that has lingered through climate talks for years.
