The Museum for the United Nations - UN Live is ready and looking very much forward to make a mark and elevate the power of popular culture at this year’s high level week of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA79) and NYC Climate Week taking place in New York the coming week.
The UN Live team will speak at multiple events, listen, learn and engage with existing and new partners. We will also host and participate in a series of undertakings, including:
🔷 Facilitating immersive conversations with C40 Cities and other partners, connecting young activists and leaders with mayors and C40 leadership from across the globe through our "Global We" portals.
🔷 With partners and Sounds Right artists who will perform their Feat. NATURE tracks, we will explore the power of music and showcase the Sounds Right initiative with our music partner EarthPercent, including at the Goals House, the UN SDG Media Zone, the Sustainability Award and the "Action Speaks" Exhibition by Ingka Group.
We also look forward to participating in the Global Compact Leaders Summit, WEF’s Cultural Table dinner, and “Science & Culture Driving Action for People & Planet” by EPIC. We will also talk more broadly about the power of popular culture and some of the programmes UN Live has in the pipeline, in particular a big entertainment climate series showcasing ordinary people doing extraordinary things, in partnership with Fingerprint Content .
Cultural experiences have the power to change mindsets and inspire the action the world so badly needs right now - and we are thrilled to see that popular culture and the entertainment industry have a stronger place than normally across both Climate Week and UNGA79, including the Summit for the Future. Here are a few of many that we are excited about:
🔸Climate Film Festival: The Climate Film Festival aims to rewrite the narrative on climate change by harnessing the power of motion pictures.
🔸Sustainability Storytelling at Solutions House NYC with Futerra and many more. https://lnkd.in/gadyTiC6
🔸The Eternal Garden System presented by Aerthship and Atmos Magazine: A food and music event in benefit of Jóvenes Amazónicos, a group of Indigenous youth fighting for the Amazon.
🔸Hollywood Climate Summit: Exploring the intersection of media, politics, and climate action through exclusive screenings, enlightening discussions, and comedy.
🔸Love & Rage: Telling the full story of new extreme weather reality
A climate storytelling workshop hosted by The Influencer Lab for Tomorrow (TILT).
🔸Earth Disco for Time for Better: Where climate activism meets joy, creating a space for celebration, connection, and hope for a better future. Featuring incredible performances from artists, including Sounds Right musician Madame Gandhi.
