🎤 "Transforming cities is a collective effort that requires us to think structurally, systemically, and in groups to create and test new innovative and promising solutions that will benefit the same citizens". With these words, Teresa Ribera Rodríguez, Third Vice-President of the Government and Minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge in Spain, opened the Industry-City Dialogue in Madrid, Spain. The event, titled "A Call to Action: Industry Mobilization for the Cities Mission", was high-level roundtable called by Climate-KIC, WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development and ICLEI and with the support of the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism, Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.    The dialogue explored the opportunities the EU Mission on Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities offers European industry in shaping a leading European market. Building on the work of #citiES2030 , the focus of the working sessions was put o the 7 Spanish Mission Cities: Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Valencia, Sevilla, Valladolid and Vitoria-Gasteiz, together with Spanish industries, Industrial Clusters, Tech Platforms, and government agencies.   This is the first of a series of similar dialogues that will take place in different country members. The conclusions and recommendations from these dialogues will be submitted to the European Commission for analysis, discussion, and action.    In Madrid, key discussions covered energy, building sector, mobility and circularity. From the conversations, it emerged that technology, business models and new funding tools are already in place: We need to overcome the identified barriers and gain scale.
