We’re excited to announce that we’re an Ecosystem Partner of the Blue Earth Summit this year, with a mission to increase youth presence and amplify youth voices at the Summit 📢 🎤 Join us on Thursday 17th October from 10:20-10:50am on the Fourth Stage for our panel discussion, ‘Influencing for Change in the Digital Age’. Our Head of Content & Operations, Nuriya Shoro, will be moderating the panel and will be joined by three inspiring panellists: Emily Renshaw-Smith from Open Planet, Avery Johnstone from KPMG, and Sunita Ramani from Greenhouse Communications. 🎬 Stay tuned for our intergenerational content series, presented by the wonderful Dominique P.. This week at #ClimateWeekNYC, University of Exeter released a new report on ‘positive tipping points’. With negative news on climate dominating the headlines, the teams of Earth Minutes, Global Optimism, University of Exeter and Open Planet challenged 50 young minds to co-create a piece of content (in a 2hr workshop!), to share this story of possibility with global youth audiences who couldn’t be here this week. https://lnkd.in/ezqJ2CKD The new report shows how a set of government policies can make clean technologies cheaper than fossil fuels, faster, and go on to trigger cascades of positive change across sectors. What does this mean for us? Positive tipping points show us how we can make the biggest impact this decade and flip the script on our futures. We need to dial up the volume on what’s possible! Event: Leaders 2050 COP29 Youth Consultation hosted by KPMG 🍎 “We need to change the minds of decision makers, or change the decision makers.” Fleur Newman, Action Empowerment Unit Lead, UN Climate Change secretariat 🍎 2050 is not a next generation problem. 🍎 The current generation of young professionals will still be in the work force by 2050, and they will ultimately inherit what current leaders leave behind. 🍎 Young professionals feel that the private sector needs to be actively engaged in the COP process, through meaningful action, diplomacy and intergenerational dialogue. Thanks to Avery Johnstone & Maya Elia for hosting such an insightful session!
