Cardinal McCloskey Community Services (CMCS) is a not-for-profit, social service agency that provides services to over 2,000 children in our foster care programs, preschool education to over 4,000 three and four year-olds from low income families, and helping over 200 developmentally disabled adults lead more fulfilling and independent lives. We are a Catholic based agency though our services are non-sectarian, providing help to all in need.

Thank you to Enterprise for supporting Cardinal McCloskey, by enabling us to support our health and wellness retreat for youth in foster care. Our Fair Futures youth, chaperoned by staff from our youth development programming participated in a retreat at Camp Ramapo in Rhinebeck NY the weekend of Oct 13th-15th. This retreat was made possible by the generous contribution of the Road to Success Enterprise grant! For many of the foster care youth, this was the first time they were out of the city and were able to experience a tranquil quiet environment. They were able to participate in groups and activities focusing on team building and healthy relationships. The youth were able to engage in activities that helped boost their self-esteem and allowed them to challenge themselves both physically and psychologically. They experienced nature, including being able to feed and pet animals right in their natural habitats. It was an inspiring experience for staff to see the youth take care of one another and support each other during every group activity. This was truly a Sanctuary retreat that we are hopeful more youth can experience in the future. #cardinalmccloskey #cmcs #cmcsstrong #helpushelpthem #fostercare
