✨ We’re excited to share highlights from the Racial Equity in Healthcare Organizational Culture webinar, our first session for Cohort 1 of the Clinics Advancing Health Equity (CAHE) project! Healthcare professionals and clinic teams came together for an insightful session on how racial and cultural inequities impact clinical settings, led by the incredible Bev Wasserman (She/Her) MSN, RN. This webinar, held on August 14, 2024, provided participants with key strategies for fostering a culture of belonging and promoting equity in care delivery. Key takeaways from the event included: 💡 Understanding intersectionality: Recognizing how overlapping oppressions affect patient care and outcomes. 🏥 Healthcare inequities: Identifying the structural and social factors that contribute to inequities based on racial identity. 🌱 Fostering a culture of belonging: Actionable steps to create more inclusive, equitable clinical environments for both patients and staff. This was the first of four webinars in the series designed to support CAHE Cohort 1 clinics. We were thrilled by the level of engagement and are eager to continue building this community of practice. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this important conversation! Together, we’re working to create healthcare spaces where equity and inclusion are at the forefront. Our Equity and Administration staff recently hosted a two-day DEI retreat at Red Rocks Community College focused on "Building Belonging across CCH." The retreat brought together participants from various departments and programs, including administrative support, safety, case management, and integrated health. The retreat featured hands-on activities (see one table's halloween inspired play-Doh creations in the photos), brainstorming sessions on improving the environment, discussions on accountability in pay equity, enhanced communication and collaboration, human resources, and a preview of internal racial equity survey results. The most significant takeaway for many was the creation of a fun, inclusive learning experience that fostered a safe space for healing and connection. Among many other compliments and positive feedback, one participant reflected, "I am very, very appreciative of the safe space that was intentionally created. The belonging became evident after half the day of being here on Thursday. Being at this retreat provided clarity on where CCH wants to go with DEI and in learning more." We are grateful to the staff who attended and contributed to the DEI retreat. Your active participation and dedication to building a better culture at CCH are invaluable. We'd also like to thank the Equity and Admin staff for planning and hosting a successful inaugural DEI retreat. We look forward to continuing our journey towards a more inclusive and supportive CCH for all!

Many thanks to all the folks at CohnReznick LLP for their generous donation of 200 hygiene kits! CohnReznick held a day of community service for their company where they invited the Coalition to give our Homelessness 101 presentation and they then put together 200 really nice hygiene kits. In the spirit of the Olympics, they made it a race between two teams! We are so grateful 💙.
