  • Coloradans: The Task Force Related to the Rights of Coloradans with Disabilities invites your input and engagement. Through four subcommittees, the Task Force is developing ideas on a broad range of issues from housing and outdoor recreation to government services and the rights detailed in Colorado’s Anti-Discrimination Act (CADA).   Prior to developing their recommendations, the four subcommittees are sharing initial ideas online for public input. Subcommittees are sharing ideas for each topic they are examining on a rolling basis, with those ideas posted online as they are developed in monthly meetings.   The following are the Task Force Subcommittees: The Rewrite Subcommittee, which must study and make recommendations concerning the various issues related to the rewrite and modernization of the Colorado Revised Statutes concerning civil rights of persons with disabilities; The Outdoors Subcommittee, which must study and make recommendations related to the basic accessibility of outdoor spaces for persons with disabilities; The Housing Subcommittee, which must study and make recommendations related to the affordability, accessibility, and attainability of housing for persons with disabilities; and The Government Subcommittee, which must focus on basic physical and programmatic accessibility within state and local government.   The first set of ideas have been posted from the Rewrite, Housing and Government Subcommittees. Ideas from the Outdoors Subcommittee and the next set of ideas from all subcommittees will be posted in August. Please visit the Task Force website to provide input on the ideas shared and check back regularly throughout August for additional ideas.    If you are interested in joining any of the Task Force or subcommittee meetings to follow the discussions or to provide public comment, meeting details are available on the Task Force website where you will also find links to past meeting materials and videos of each meeting.   The Task Force’s work and recommendations will be made stronger through robust stakeholder and public input. We appreciate you taking time to learn about the Task Force’s work and to share your input on the ideas being developed. https://lnkd.in/gYZAeCn2

  • We are inspired by the generous contribution of time & the thoughtful work of fire officials, local government leaders, utility operators, engineers & other experts on Wildfire Resiliency Code Board (WRCB). The WRCB is developing a new set of statewide code to mitigate wildfire risk. With meetings held across the state to maximize participation & provide the board opportunities to spend time in the state's diverse communities, the WRCB was joined today by representatives of the Colorado State Forest Service to help inform the board's work. In addition to the WRCB itself, the body has subcommittees digging deeply into each aspect of their work including Building Design, Site & Area Design, Implementation & Governance & Wildfire Urban Interface (WUI) Definition.

  • From the mountains & plains of the Rockies, across the Blue Ridge Mountains & coastal towns of the Carolinas, through the panhandle of FL, all along the Gulf & Atlantic & all points between, our teams go where needed & find ways to have fun while taking it all in!

  • We are thrilled to be joined by Dr. Katy Anthes at today's CO #SaferSchools Initiative meeting. After leading #K12 education in Colorado as Commissioner through some of the most challenging times, Dr. Anthes has found yet another way to share her talents with students, educators and communities. As Director of Forward at PEBC- Public Education & Business Coalition, she is leading efforts to help move conversations from polarization to progress. Confluence Policy & Strategy Group & PEBC are passionately committed to helping those with different perspectives or experiences learn from one another and find common ground. We could not imagine someone more aligned with that vision than Dr. Anthes! For more about the Safer Schools Initiative, visit https://lnkd.in/gvrug-r3 #edpolicy #commonground

  • The most successful collaborative decision making processes (CDMPs) we support are those work groups and task forces that make time to learn from experts, those with lived experience & those most affected by the underlying systems. As this subcommittee starts to develop their recommendations, we are grateful for Ms. Elenis' time & the commitment of task force members to develop the most powerful, consensus based recommendations informed by the broadest possible input during the process.

The collaborative group includes fire marshals, architects, engineers, utility operators, insurance & government officials among other experts. We’re honored to support this group as they undertake the critical & complex work that ranges from defining the wildland urban interface, determining where & how the code applies & ultimately drafting the new code.
