Closing out this year, we're holding that it was one that was filled with heartache, frustration, and pain. We’re wrapping up the 💫 Powerful Ripples of Change series, with the final post shouting out Omni Circle Group! Omni Circle focuses on community building and leadership development in Topeka, Kansas, with a new youth mentorship program that invests in the next generation of local leaders. By building up the confidence and skills of African American leaders in the community, and cultivating an ecosystem of connections, they hope to provide a pathway to local leadership so that their elected officials better reflect the community and elevate community priorities. Today we're wrapping up our second post in the 💫 Powerful Ripples of Change series focused on intersectional organizing. We want to recognize the work of Heart of the City Neighborhoods, Inc. in Buffalo, NY, supporting healing in the aftermath of devastating gun violence at the Tops Supermarket followed by two destructive blizzards. HoCN quickly pivoted to focusing on mutual aid, weatherization, home repairs, and advocacy for the equitable distribution of state relief funds. Not only that, but they're building a path towards healing and unity by bringing community together.
