Meet Abby J. Kaplan, Senior Vice President, Compounding, who is excited to join Covetrus®️ and brings a wealth of experience in human compounding. We asked her three questions to get to know her better. Do you have any pets? Of course! I have two male Pomskies named Hunter and Kody. They are a mix between Husky and Pomeranian and look like mini huskies. Hunter is the bigger of the two and just wants to snuggle and gaze into our eyes! Kody is my little shadow. He’s a bit high-strung, so he likes to follow me around and always wants to know what is going on. They both enjoy rabbit chasing, belly rubs and listening to their howling echo throughout the house.😉 What’s one of your guilty pleasures? Chocolate chip cookie dough. My teenage daughters love it too, so we often start out "baking" cookies without ever getting to the baking part! What is the biggest opportunity you have in your new role? The animal compounding industry has been undergoing massive change from a regulatory perspective in terms of where and how products can be made (503A vs. 503B and individual patient prescriptions vs. office use). Because the FDA and State Board of Pharmacies’ expectations continue to evolve, we have an opportunity to develop and execute innovative changes that not only anticipate, but also help us benefit from those developments. Meet Dori Johnson, a Veterinary Account Executive with Covetrus®, who is competing this month at the 2024 Polocrosse World Cup in South Africa. The event marks Dori's third time competing in a World Cup competition! Dori has been playing polocrosse, which is like polo and lacrosse on horseback, for over 20 years. Her first international experience was with The United States Pony Club, where she competed against the United Kingdom in 2004. Since then, she has traveled the world, competing in numerous countries, including New Zealand, England, and Australia. Every four years, the top eight countries from around the globe gather to compete for a chance to win the World Cup. Dori, alongside three other U.S. women players and four U.S. men, will take to the field this month. Although polocrosse is highly competitive, Dori says she has formed lifelong friendships in polocrosse and it's a very family-oriented sport. Dori even met her husband, Daniel Johnson, through polocrosse years ago and now their son plays the sport with them. Dori, congrats and good luck!
