Meet our featured employee for August, Cristina Geer! What do you enjoy most about your role with CuraLinc? Connecting people to accessible mental health care. Being able to do that legwork and allow our clients to focus on their well-being instead of the intricacies of the healthcare system is very rewarding for me. What are you most excited to achieve this year personally and professionally? Personally, I'm excited to learn a 4th language! I've started teaching myself German. Professionally, I'm looking forward to bettering my skill set and growing as an employee. How do you define success?  Success, to me, means feeling fulfilled in and proud of what I do while staying true to my core values and who I am. What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Reading, music, video games, Duolingo, volleyball, baseball, and stand-up comedy. What is a fun fact about yourself you don’t mind sharing?  I did choir & musical theatre for almost 10 years.

Government and municipality employees have experienced an increase in mental health issues due to significant stressors, such as political unrest and economic turmoil. And election season brings its own set of challenges for these employees, often making it more difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Long hours, harassment and the potential for job insecurity can lead to serious mental health challenges, as well as absenteeism and turnover in the industry. Fortunately, CuraLinc’s recent study shows that an effective workplace mental health program can help combat these challenges and enable employees to thrive. Our study of 6,000+ employees from more than 300 government and municipality industry employers found that 33% met the criteria for clinical anxiety before starting treatment with CuraLinc’s EAP. Upon completing treatment, 84% recovered to no longer be at risk. In addition, 47% of users experienced a workplace productivity issue before beginning treatment. Upon completion, employees recouped an average of 40.23 hours per month. These improvements highlight the value of personalized navigation and treatment in managing mental health challenges experienced by government and municipality employees.
