We have an exciting announcement to make 🥁... We are now Dekker! 🎉 Our name has changed—our 65+ years of design expertise hasn’t. “Dekker represents a theme of innovation over more than 65 years. But most of all, it represents a commitment to moving our communities forward: championed daily by Dale Dekker and embodied by every member of the team.”—Emily Allen, Chief Financial Officer The new name is an evolution of our brand: a reflection of our history, and a roadmap for what’s next. It’s not a change to our operations or team. Together, we’ll continue creating places and spaces with a problem focused, human centered approach. #ArchitectureInProgress Head on over to our website to learn more about the change: https://lnkd.in/g4hWmaAH

We recently had the honor of attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the new College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of Northern Colorado. Among those in attendance was Founding Dean, Dr. Beth Longenecker, and University President, Dr. Andy Feinstein. This design build project is in collaboration with SmithGroup and Adolfson & Peterson Construction. It's always exciting to see progress on a project, even if it's just the beginning! #COM #HigherEd #ArchitectureInProgress

Our education studio recently had the pleasure of attending the Gadsden Middle School groundbreaking. In attendance were leaders from GADSDEN INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS, and our construction partners. This 127,000sf middle school replacement will serve over 1,000 students grades 6-8. The site design prioritizes safe and efficient circulation, featuring a secure central courtyard that connects the 6th grade STEM wing to the rest of the campus, fostering a cohesive environment. Core facilities like administration, library, and cafeteria are strategically placed for community use and easy supervision. The modern two-story layout maximizes daylight and encourages collaboration. Additionally, the existing gymnasium will be retained and renovated, preserving a key element of the school's heritage. #EducationDesign #K12Architecture #ArchitectureInProgress

Their presentation, titled "More Than A School: A Shared Vision for a Rural Community" will be a case study on the Lukachukai Community School in Lukachukai (Navajo Nation). They will talk about some of the unique workarounds for rural school design challenges as well as how the design team integrated community gathering and cultural traditions into their forward-thinking design. Their presentation will be during the 12:30-1:30 session on Friday. Stop by and say hello! Fall in Albuquerque means that instead of leaves falling, balloons are rising up in the air! Our Albuquerque office has some truly epic views of Balloon Fiesta - the world's biggest hot air balloon festival in the world! Sure, we had to wake up early, but New Mexican breakfast burritos and beautiful balloons make it more than worthwhile. And we got a first look at the beautiful view our neighbors-in-construction Senary by Allaso will have of the balloons when the project is complete! 📸 : Jerry Walters #NewMexicoFall #BalloonFiesta

We love partnering with Sol Housing to provide much-needed affordable and market rate housing to Albuquerque. The Bataan and Churchill community will bring a beautiful, affordable housing community to the west side of Albuquerque. The first phase planned is 46 one and two bedroom apartment homes for seniors 55+, including amenity spaces, a dog park, and secure parking. Sol Housing works with local neighborhood associations and residents to create housing developments that reflect the needs and desires of the community. If you live near this future housing development, Sol Housing would love to hear from you! Click the link below to learn more about the project and provide your input! https://lnkd.in/gW-P2RVm

This past weekend was one for the books at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC)! Not only did we cheer on the Bears at the Homecoming football game, but we celebrated the groundbreaking milestone of the new College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) with the university and our design-build partners at Adolfson & Peterson Construction and associate architects Dekker. This 111,000-gsf project in Greeley, Colorado is a game-changer for UNC, marking a new chapter in its commitment to advancing medical #education and community #health. Our team is proud to lead the design and construction of this state-of-the-art medical education graduate program, as it will train students to become Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, increase the supply of primary care physicians in the state, leverage synergies among the existing Health Sciences programs at UNC, and improve the overall health of the surrounding communities, especially in rural areas. Congratulations to UNC and our partners, we look forward to our continued partnership on this exciting development journey! #HigherEducation #DesignABetterFuture
