As we come to the end of Black Maternal Health week, the Detroit Land Bank Authority wants to celebrate all the Black moms who are putting in the hard work at home, and on their homes. Moms like Paula Smith, who recently celebrated her new duplex that was renovated by Osborn Neighborhood Alliance, and made possible by DLBA, Detroit Housing and Revitalization Department, Strategic Neighborhood Fund, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), and Fifth Third Bank.

Detroit is really about that action when we say we’re buying the block! King Yadee was highlighted in Mayor Mike Duggan's 2021 State of the City Address for his astounding efforts to rehab properties on his childhood block while also training youth in the neighborhood. Detroit Land Bank Authority has made it possible for individuals such as King Yadee to make solid investments into their communities AND build generational wealth!
