💧Did you know that groundwater is a reservoir? That's right! This "hidden" reservoir is an important part of long-term water sustainability. Curious about what makes this reservoir such a vital resource? 🤔 Hydrogeologist Jill Weinberger says whereas surface reservoirs are like a "checking account" where water comes in and gets released more frequently, groundwater is like a "savings account," where water is stored over the long term for use, as needed. In celebration of Groundwater Awareness Week, learn more about the importance of this "hidden" reservoir, leveraging water storage for climate resilience, and how three types of reservoirs support long-term water supply. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gSSzg7Hm #GWAW #groundwatersustainability
