Today’s #FeaturedFridaywiththeETECBoard of Directors brought a fantastic crowd! It was a jam packed program, so prepare for a jam packed recap! -We kicked things off with our meeting sponsor, Joe Aylor, MBA from UCOR, who shared insights on critical projects and a brief video summarizing the great work they are doing. -Next, Alan Lowe and Jennifer Lee from the American Museum of Science and Energy dove into activities happening at AMSE during #NuclearScienceWeek, sharing updates and engaging visuals. This Saturday, they have a Godzilla double feature with a Halloween candy giveaway and Monster City Smash @ 2:00pm. -Following that, Dr. Bruce Borchers, Dr. Holly Cross, and students from Oak Ridge Schools, led by Teacher Bryson Leftwich, gave an inspiring overview of their work to create Nuclear Energy PSAs. As they showed the PSAs, you could feel the room light up with excitement for the future. They shared future plans about their work with Terry Thoren, CEO and President of Wonder Media Education. (Terry previously spoke at ETEC this past April). -- -- Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Director, Dr. Stephen Streiffer, then took the floor with a quick video, adding valuable perspective to the nuclear science theme. -Rounding out the morning, Dan Ciarlette from CiaberTech, highlighted key points for #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth, sharing his key summary of "Summary: If you thought you can get away from NIST SP 800-171A, CMMC, and DFARS 7012 by just doing business with other agencies – the answer is no.
