Congratulations to Beaver County! In October, Fervo Energy broke ground on power plant construction at Cape Station, an enhanced geothermal energy production project located northeast of Milford City, Utah. Enhanced geothermal utilizes horizontal drilling technology to produce more energy than previously available with traditional geothermal power development. Cape Station is slated to produce 400 megawatts of power in the first two phases of the project, and Phase I will begin delivering around-the-clock power to the grid in 2026. Fervo has already hired three full-time staff from the local community and will create hundreds of temporary construction jobs in the coming years. Fervo anticipates that, when complete, Cape Station will employ up to 30 full-time permanent workers. "Fervo Energy's commitment to Beaver County and Milford City sets the gold standard,” said Jen Wakeland, strategic development director for Beaver County. “They are community-oriented players who know the value of energy production in a community. We are thrilled to have them here in Beaver County." The company’s announcement resulted from collaboration among Beaver County, EDCUtah, the Utah Inland Port Authority, and the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity. https://lnkd.in/gGFKhGGv

Check out this awesome update from Ben Saada of Fairmat. The company chose to expand in Salt Lake City, Utah, after working with EDCUtah, Salt Lake City Corporation, UAMMI (now the 47G UAMMI Institute), and the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity. Fairmat's carbon fiber recycling facility is the first of its kind in the U.S.!
🌎 Fairmat’s Journey to the US: how we opened our first factory in Utah, and why we did it 🌎 A while ago, we opened our first facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. This wasn’t just about having a footprint in the US—it was about committing to a deeper, more sustainable impact in one of the world’s largest markets for carbon fiber. It was also to show ourselves, and the world, that deeptech can be designed to scale. So, what does this step mean for Fairmat? 1️⃣ Proximity to Opportunity With the Salt Lake City factory, we’re closer to key US players, placing Fairmat at the heart of innovation in carbon fiber and aerospace industries. This strategic location enables us to serve major industries—from elite sports to automotive—more efficiently and locally while still supporting our global ambitions. 2️⃣ Scaling Our Business and Mission In a global economy with global clients and supply chains, our tech had to be infinitely agile, adaptable, and scalable. Salt Lake City is the first proof of that. We’ve balanced innovation with pragmatism, expanding without compromising what makes Fairmat unique. 3️⃣ Building a Strong US Team Our local team drives operations, strengthens relationships, and opens doors for future growth. This facility is just the first step in our vision to lead sustainable materials across North America. What’s next? Further expansion is already on our radar. This factory lays the foundation for future growth to meet the rising demand for advanced recycled materials and explore new markets. Each step follows a sustainable, scalable strategy. The future is bright, and the US is a major part of our journey !
