Non-competes, sexual harassment, worker’s rights, overtime pay, and the use of artificial intelligence in recruiting and screening job candidates. What do they all have in common? They’re the subjects of new regulatory language from federal agencies. Kathleen Weron of Ogletree Deakins helps us navigate some of the changes that are either in place or on the horizon for Utah companies.

News from an EDCUtah Founding Investor: Dominion Energy announced that its natural gas distribution business in Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho will join Enbridge., a Canadian-based company. Enbridge will now extend its services to customers in Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho, operating in our market as Enbridge Gas Utah.
It’s an exciting moment for all of us - we are welcoming Dominion Energy Utah, Idaho and Wyoming to Enbridge, who will now do business locally as Enbridge Gas. In September 2023, Enbridge Inc. announced a plan to purchase three U.S.-based natural gas utilities, which collectively provide natural gas service to approximately three million customers in Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, North Carolina and Ohio. Utah, Idaho and Wyoming have now joined us, so tomorrow is on! (Ohio joined us a few months back.) Along with Enbridge Gas in Ontario, we now serve 6.3 million customers collectively. “All of us are committed to providing the energy people need to live their lives now and in the future. We are excited about the future of natural gas in North America as a secure, reliable, and affordable energy choice to meet the needs of families, businesses, and industry today,” said Michele Harradence, president of Enbridge Gas Inc., which is based in Ontario. As part of this integration, we will be posting Utah, Wyoming and Idaho stories on this LinkedIn site. We will work hard to ensure LinkedIn readers learn about all of our utilities. We encourage employees in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming to follow us on LinkedIn, along with area residents who want to join us on this energy journey. If you are a customer of those utilities, we’d like to let you know that while the name has changed, the company will continue to offer you the same safe, reliable service you have come to expect. For now, there are no changes to customer rates, services, or how customers interact with us. Some changes will occur over time, such as the logo on our buildings, service vehicles and customer bills. We’ll be sure to provide plenty of advance notice and information about any planned changes. Information and updates can be found at dominionenergy.com/Utah. #WhatADay #Growing #NaturalGas #Utah #Wyoming #Idaho

Today BRIDOR announced plans to bring 87 new, high-paying jobs and invest nearly $229 million to Brigham City, Utah, over the next 13 years. This announcement was the result of collaboration among many Utah partners, including EDCUtah, the Utah Inland Port Authority, Brigham City Corporation, Boyer, and Utah Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity Brigham City Industrial Park, where Bridor will be located, is one of 14 development-ready properties certified by EDCUtah’s Site Ready Utah program. Psomas, an EDCUtah Ambassador level investor, completed the site certification work for Brigham City Industrial Park. Bridor said about their decision: “Utah’s connectivity to major transportation routes, top-notch labor market, and proximity to diverse and rich agricultural products quickly elevated Utah to the top of our state regional reviews. The strong local support of our project early on for a manufacturer entering the market helped us visualize the road map of how to establish operations here.” https://lnkd.in/g_E4MvSi
