Miller, currently our Chief Operations Officer, brings a wealth of experience in driving innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth across Alabama. With her strong track record of driving growth initiatives and her strategic vision for the state’s innovation ecosystem, Girvin is seen as the ideal leader to continue advancing EDPA’s mission. She will be succeeding Greg Barker, who will retire at the end of 2024 after four years of remarkable leadership. We are incredibly grateful for Greg’s dedication and the legacy he leaves behind. Renaming the program recognizes Ernie’s deep commitment to mentoring future economic developers and his passion for fostering growth in the profession. EDPA’s next step is to work with the Alabama Department of Commerce and Innovate Alabama to develop proactive tactics for realizing growth in the targeted sectors.
