About us

Energy Harbor is a premier carbon free power producer and fully integrated retail energy provider. We operate the second largest non regulated nuclear fleet in the country supplying roughly 33 terrawatt hours of clean carbon free generation to customers in the PJM market, enough to power more than 3.5 million homes and businesses annually.

    Shares of power generation company Vistra Corp. are up more than 135% this year due to increased demand for energy in data centers powering the AI revolution.  Only two S&P 500 companies, Super Micro and Nvidia, are outpacing Vistra year-to-date. “For seven years we’ve been growing our company with this electrification theme in mind. We’ve tripled revenues, we’ve tripled earnings power and that’s all before this latest wave of AI interest,” said Vistra CEO Jim Burke.

    The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) released an article predicting a big year for nuclear energy in 2024. The DOE is investing billions into the nation’s clean energy infrastructure to help grow the economy and nuclear will be a key piece of the puzzle. The article mentions the hydrogen demonstration project at Davis-Besse. The DOE hopes nuclear plants will be able to scale up production of clean hydrogen using existing reactors and open-up new markets for the nuclear sector!

    Congrats to the newest class of nuclear operators! The United States grants licenses to about a million doctors, over 100,000 pilots, but only about 37,000 nuclear reactor operator licenses! After two years of training in the classroom and in the Simulator and passing the NRC Exam, we're proud to say that all recent graduates have been assigned to operating crews! Great job to all!

    From The Archives' a monthly series that takes us back in time to see how far we've come! This month takes us back to 2016, when the Beaver Valley Power Station received new steam generators. The initial plan was to replace the Beaver Valley Steam generators. However, shortly after their arrival it became evident that the current steam generators were still running effectively. The construction of these generators was a global effort, with different parts coming from Japan, Spain, Sweden, and a few others. They were brought in via boat from the Atlantic Ocean, up the Mississippi to the Ohio River and finally to Beaver Valley. From there it took a transporter to get them from water to the designated storage area.
