Did you know that the Paralympic Games have Goalball as a sport? This game is exclusively played by athletes who are legally blind! Here's some fun facts: -The game involves throwing a ball using a bowling motion past the opponents and into their net to score points -Players must wear opaque eyeshades at all times ensuring fair competition -Spectators must remain silent so players can hear and locate the ball -Officials use verbal commands to inform players of what is happening during the game -Penalties are awarded for high ball, long ball, excessive noise, delaying the game and touching one’s eyeshades #Paralympics2024

Our latest Seniors Keys to Independence Program (SKIP) participants graduated after completing training at our new location in Farmers Branch! SKIP is a program funded by the Texas Workforce Commission that sends older individuals from all over Texas who are in need of blind skills training or low vision rehabilitation services to training centers where they learn independent living skills.
