🚍 𝑨𝒖𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝑷𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 (𝑨𝑷𝑪) 𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏 2025: 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑵𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝑲𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑵𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒕 𝑫𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝑹𝒆𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈    As we approach 2025, it's crucial for transit agencies to prepare for the 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐀𝐏𝐂) 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 process. This process is a key component of ensuring accurate and reliable data for the National Transit Database (NTD) reporting requirements as well as ensuring your agency stays compliant with federal regulations. Here’s what you need to know to stay compliant and optimize your data collection.    𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘈𝘗𝘊 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵? 🤔   APC systems are essential for tracking ridership and ensuring that transit agencies have accurate data for operational planning, funding allocation, and compliance with federal regulations. Recertification in 2025 will verify that your APC systems continue to meet the rigorous standards set by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) so that you can continue to utilize grant and other federal funding.    𝘒𝘦𝘺 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘱𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 📈:  1. 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐏𝐂 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬   Ensure your existing APC systems are functioning correctly. Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify any potential issues that could affect data accuracy.    2. 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞   Check for updates or upgrades from your APC system provider. Up-to-date software and hardware are critical for maintaining compliance with FTA standards.    3. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐚 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭   Before undergoing recertification, run a pilot test on a subset of your fleet. This will help identify any discrepancies and allow you to make necessary adjustments.    4. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠   Ensure your team is trained on the latest APC technology and the NTD reporting requirements. Proper training is essential for minimizing errors and maximizing data quality.    5. 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠   Keep detailed records of all APC system updates, maintenance, and tests. Proper documentation is crucial during the recertification process and for future audits.    ⏱ 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞! Start preparing for APC recertification now to ensure a smooth process and avoid any potential disruptions to your operations. By taking proactive steps, you’ll not only stay compliant but also enhance your agency’s ability to make data-driven decisions that improve service delivery and passenger satisfaction.    𝐖𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐓𝐃 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬? Augmenting their fleet with energy efficient electric buses and building emission-saving solar panels are just two ways that our neighbors, Broward County Transit (BCT), are moving towards better renewable energy practices! ⚡ It warms our heart here in the Sunshine State to see beacons like BCT shine brightly on their pursuit to both expanding offerings to their local community, while becoming more energy-efficient in the process. 🌅 We salute you, BCT, and look forward to seeing this project come to fruition with the help of the $25 million Federal Transit Administration grant! #PublicTransit #ElectricBuses #RenewableEnergy

FTA is investing $25 million in Broward County Transit (BCT) to buy up to 19 battery electric ⚡ buses and chargers to replace older diesel vehicles. The federal support will also help the South Florida transit agency build a canopy of solar ☀️ panels at its Northeast Transit Center, which will provide renewable energy to charge 🔌 buses and take a bite out of climate change. #busmonth tinyurl.com/busmonth2024
