🌬️ Indoor air quality (IAQ) is a critical factor in both health and productivity—yet it’s often overlooked. Poor #IAQ has been linked to cognitive decline, absenteeism, and long-term health risks, reinforcing the need for improved ventilation and monitoring in buildings. With growing regulatory focus and tenant expectations, prioritizing IAQ isn’t just about well-being—it’s a smart business decision for real estate value and risk management. This insightful piece from Savills highlights why health-driven design is essential. Fitwel helps real estate leaders implement proven strategies to enhance IAQ, creating healthier more resilient spaces that support occupant well-being and long-term asset value. https://lnkd.in/eCEMFzeu) #HealthyBuildings #IndoorAirQuality #Fitwel #BuildingHealthForAll

🌱 Creating vibrant, sustainable communities is at the heart of modern student living. GSA - Global Student Accommodation's focus on #SustainableLiving is setting a new standard for #StudentHousing and #StudentAccommodation. By integrating innovative practices, they’re shaping spaces where students can thrive while contributing to a greener future. 👏 #Sustainability #HealthAndWellness #Community
At GSA, our sustainability strategy is underpinned by a recognition of our responsibility to reduce the built environment’s carbon footprint, and the creation of healthy and safe spaces for our students to support their wellbeing during their time with us. Our strategy in action can be seen in the U.S.A., where we have been working closely with our global operating partner Yugo and Evolution Sustainability Group to deliver practical, innovative, and cost-effective energy solutions, that are improving the environmental performance of our portfolio and supporting the health and wellbeing of our students. To date, our sustainability projects in the U.S.A. have reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 5,818 Metric Tons CO2e, the equivalent of burning 13,400 barrels of oil a year, and Yugo’s Live Your Best Life programme has delivered site-based activities, including exercise classes, wellbeing sessions, and CV writing workshops across our 43 sites to over 1,200 students, encouraging them to shine. As a result of these initiatives, we’re proud that 50% of our spaces have now achieved Energy Star certification, and 40% of our spaces have been awarded Fitwel certification, demonstrating the positive impact for our students. #sustainableliving #studenthousing #studentaccommodation #pbsa
