I was a Laboratory Coordinator at Georgia State University for over 7 years after I completed my graduate degree. It was an incredible job that gave me the space to be creative and understand who I was philosophically as an educator, to learn from fantastic staff and faculty colleagues about everything from laboratory safety and management to student-centered pedagogy, and best of all, to work with and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. It was absolutely pivotal to my both my personal and career journeys.
