🌍 Advancing Namibia's Biotrade Sector for Sustainable Development! 🌱 Yesterday, the BioInnovation Africa (BIA), in collaboration with the Namibia Trade Forum (NTF) and Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) , hosted a productive Public-Private Sector Biotrade Dialogue to share information and insights on various international trade agreements, and local policy instruments. The dialogue provided a critical platform for stakeholders across the biotrade sector to: •Share information and insights on current regulatory frameworks, including the Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) law, the Growth at Home strategy, and the new Bioeconomy Strategy. •Identify key opportunities and gaps to maximize support for Namibia’s bio-based industries. •Explore the roles of key actors in driving innovation, employment creation, and market access for Namibia’s natural resource sectors. The recommendations from this dialogue will directly inform future support programs by NIPDB, NTF, and the Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade (MIT). Our gratitude goes out to everyone who contributed to these impactful discussions and to all our exhibitors who came out and showcased their products. Together, we’re paving the way for a sustainable future for Namibia’s biotrade industry! #Biotrade #Namibia #SustainableDevelopment #BioInnovation #PublicPrivatePartnership #Biodiversity #GrowthAtHome

What does green hydrogen mean to Namibia’s youth? 🔋🌍 In our recent green hydrogen masterclasses in collaboration with Namibia Youth Energy Forum, we’ve witnessed a remarkable level of interest and curiosity among young Namibians. With their perspectives, they see green hydrogen not only as a pathway to sustainable energy but as a catalyst for change. We’ve reached out to young people from Tsumeb, Ongwediva, and Rundu to ask what green hydrogen means to them personally, what hopes they attach to these projects, and what they expect from those in leadership. Throughout November, join us every Monday and Wednesday as we share the youth’s perspectives on green hydrogen and visions for Namibia’s future. 🗣️💡 #justenergyfuture #greenhydrogen #Namibia

On 26 October 2024, the GIZ Lüderitz and Aus Integrated Urban Development Project and the Leipzig delegation embarked on a familiarization visit to Aus, Namibia. With a population of just over 1,200 people, there is a strong need for socio-economic transformation, particularly in creating employment opportunities for the youth. Despite the socioeconomic challenges, the settlement has a significant competitive advantage: access to land for greenfield development 🌍🏗️. This presents a valuable opportunity for growth and improvement in the community! 💪✨ #urbandevelopment
