About us

As a service provider in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development and international education work, we are dedicated to shaping a future worth living around the world. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH has been working in Namibia since 1990 and opened an office in the capital Windhoek in 1994. GIZ works on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and the European Union, among others. It is cooperating with its local Namibian partners on over 20 projects and supporting the country’s sustainable economic and social development. Our focus are include, the Management of Natural Resources, Sustainable Economic Development, Inclusive Sustainable Urban Development as well as Renewable Energy.
