🙏 We thank The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (dcceew) for hosting the workshop on 30x30 target in the margins of the Global Nature Positive Summit, with the HAC for N&P. We commend the Australian government for its leadership on both the political and technical level!👏 The workshop enabled countries and organizations to share progress, challenges and gaps on 30x30 with reoccurring elements across the workshop being the need to collaborate and the importance of partnerships. We look forward to our next stop at #CBD #COP16 where we will be sharing elements on the 7 regional workshops co-organized by the HAC for N&P in 2024. We hope to analyze and draw some commonalities addressed during the different exchanges. Stay tuned! #30x30

Together with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, the High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People hosted a Ministerial Event at the Global Nature Positive Summit 2024, in Sydney on Unlocking a multi-stakeholder approach to reach the 30x30 target. We heard from H.E Minister Tanya Plibersek, the ministers of environment of the Cook Islands, and of Palau, as well as Tishiko King, Mark Gough and Karen Sack. Thank you for a very inspiring and insightful roundtable! In short, we need commitment, collaboration and investment in our nature.

Earlier this week alongside our partners we were delighted to host ‘Leveraging ambition for 30×30 and Beyond: The Road to CBD COP16’ a high-level roundtable and reception on the sidelines of UNGA79 focused on progress delivering 30x30 and much-needed nature finance. We were honored to have the evening compered by Her Excellency The Right Honourable Dame Jacinda Ardern and hear from leaders around the world including His Excellency Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of Bhutan, the newly appointed UK Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development The Rt. Hon. David Lammy MP and President of this year’s CBD COP16 Her Excellency Susana Muhamad, Minister of Environment for Colombia.
