😉 You know it's just another day at OBREAL when we're hosting, organizing, or speaking at events across multiple countries! 📚 Today we also launched the "UN Recognition Conventions, HAQAA, and Inter-Regional Support for African Higher Education" webinar organized together with Centre for Global Higher Education 🗣️ Elizabeth Colucci from OBREAL and Howard Davies from the European University Association shared valuable perspectives on the role of international frameworks and quality assurance initiatives, like HAQAA3, in advancing African higher education. 🤝 We appreciate the contributions of all speakers and attendees in fostering inter-regional cooperation and driving quality improvements in the sector.
🤝 HAQAA3 is present at the Inter-University Council for East Africa Stakeholder Forum, supporting the development of a comprehensive and harmonized Higher Education Information Management System (HEIMS) for East Africa. 🔛 A key focus of the HAQAA initiative is strengthening Africa's higher education data collection for better policy-making. Through HAQAA3, we’re building on the roadmap from HAQAA2, working with stakeholders to find the best regional approaches that respect diverse legal, political, and linguistic contexts. 🌍 Our aim is to create stronger, more unified data systems for African higher education.

The HAQAA3 Implementing Team, in partnership with SARUA - Southern African Regional Universities Association, the Commission for Higher Education of #Mauritius, and SADC Secretariat organized three key events: 1. A regional workshop promoting an African Credit Transfer System (ACTS). 2. A consultation on establishing a Pan-African Quality Assurance Agency. 3. A regional meeting of the SADC Education Management Information System (EMIS). Participants from 13 African countries discussed key topics such as regional harmonization in higher education, aligning quality assurance systems, and the implications for micro-credentials and student mobility.
