On a recent weekend, Austin, Julie, and I from HKP Architects got the opportunity to join Skagit Trail Builders for a work day on Hill Creek Trail at North State Recreation Area! It’s always great volunteering with STB because they are such a tight-knit and efficient team. They always have a plan in place to get as much done as possible during their Saturday work parties, and the positive energy is infectious even when it’s wet and muddy. It’s also fun to work with the high school students on the Next Gen Leaders team, since they’re super capable and always willing to train us on tasks we haven’t tried before. We had an incredible time at this year’s NW EcoGuild's Green Building Slam at Town Hall Seattle! The night was filled with exciting topics like Passive House, Biophilia, Solar Decathlon, and sustainable deconstruction.
