Why is our 5️⃣th floor Medical Unit team flexing?💪 Because they just won our pro-wrestling inspired Fall Prevention Champion Belt for the 2️⃣nd time. For the past year, clinical departments throughout Huntsville Hospital have been in a friendly competition to improve patient safety by eliminating falls. The unit with the best results gets to keep this fun, flashy gold belt for an entire month. Bravo! 👏

Huntsville Hospital reposted this
The Huntsville Hospital Foundation team is thrilled and honored to announce we have received a $10 million donation from an anonymous donor, representing the largest-ever philanthropic gift in Huntsville Hospital’s 129-year history. The historic gift was given in gratitude for the excellent and compassionate care the donor received at Huntsville Hospital Heart Center, and has provided a catalyst for Huntsville Hospital’s just-announced $150 million community investment: the addition of five floors and 100 hospital rooms to the Madison Street Tower. This project will launch a new era for cardiovascular medicine in North Alabama. Although this grateful patient chooses to remain anonymous, the impact of their gift will be felt by Huntsville Hospital patients and our community for generations to come. Read the story behind this historic gift and the full vision for the Madison Street Tower project here. >> https://bit.ly/3Y6DnP0

It’s hard to remember in the heat of summer 😎, but 2024 began with an ice storm that created treacherous travel conditions across North Alabama.❄️ Security & Parking Supervisor Milton Holt literally went the extra mile by personally driving home numerous patients living as far away as Cullman whose loved ones could not reach the hospital. We applaud Milton's heroic efforts to keep our patients safe and just surprised him with our July Employee of the Month Award. Congratulations! 👏 💚

A towering addition is soon coming to Huntsville's skyline! 🏥 The rapid growth across North Alabama has prompted our next major investment - the expansion of the Madison Street Tower with five additional floors and 100 patient rooms. Hear from HH Health CEO, Jeff Samz, as he talks about a new era of cardiovascular medicine, neurosciences and more in the video below. 👇

We were proud to team up with TOC- The Orthopaedic Center as the presenting sponsors/medical partners for last week’s Jalen Milroe Football Camp. 🏈 More than 500 youngsters packed Westminster Christian Academy for a chance to meet and learn a few moves from the University of Alabama’s starting QB. Thanks for bringing your camp to the Rocket City, Jalen! 🚀

We are excited to introduce Will Guthrie as our new vice president of support services. His responsibilities now include oversight of construction, maintenance, real estate and joint laundry services for all of HH Health plus food services, environmental services, security and facilities planning at our downtown campus. Will said his father, Dr. Max Michael, who recently retired as dean of UAB’s School of Public Health, showed him the positive impact health care can have on a community level while his uncle, Birmingham neurosurgeon Dr. Bart Guthrie, showed him how health care can change lives on an individual level. Will graduated from Auburn with a degree in building sciences and has a master’s in health care administration from UAB. In his spare time, he can often be found in Birmingham building aging-in-place certified homes for low-income seniors. He’s completed 11 houses so far and is about to start on three more.

Thailand, Iran, Jamaica and Ethiopia are just a few of the places that some of HH Health's staff call home. Among them, 11 individuals from our Environmental Services (EVS) team have attained US citizenship over the last five years. Thanyaphat (first photo) from our EVS nursing team is from Nakhon Sawan, Thailand, and is proud to celebrate the 4th of July for the very first time. Please join us in wishing them a very safe and happy holiday. 🇺🇸
