Our colleague Cristian Garrido Tamm has participated in the recent Interregional Workshop on Experimental Testing and Validation for Design and Safety Analysis Computer Codes for Small Modular Reactors organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This event is an important milestone in advancing nuclear safety and efficiency, and validating design codes for small modular reactors, an emerging technology with the potential to transform the energy landscape. Inter-regional collaboration is fundamental to progress in nuclear energy, and this kind of workshop facilitates a valuable exchange of knowledge and experience between Member States. At IDOM Nuclear Services, we are proud to contribute to these global efforts, sharing our expertise and learning from other leaders in the industry. Our participation underlines our commitment to innovation and excellence in nuclear engineering. We thank the IAEA for the opportunity to be part of this momentous event and look forward to continued collaboration on initiatives that promote nuclear safety and sustainability. #IAEA #NuclearSafety #SMR #Commitment #EngineeringExcellence

Last week, Rocio de Ingunza Baraja, Pierfederico Briani and David Zaragoza Andreu attended the International Workshop on Collaborative Contract for Integrated Fusion Project Delivery with more than 90 representatives from contracting authorities, fusion project owners, members of the fusion supply chain, and legal and procurement professionals. Fusion for Energy organized the meeting at its headquarters in Barcelona. The goal was to develop a model contract for the construction of fusion infrastructure. The workshop was followed by the "International Conference on International Frameworks for Fusion Technology Development", a hybrid event that brought together another 100 delegates to explore and discuss the legal, policy and regulatory frameworks related to fusion technology.

We would like to thank Kyoto Fusioneering for their confidence in us to perform RAMI analyses on the SCYLLA breeding blanket and lithium lead loop systems. The characterization of the main functions of both systems is the starting point for a first risk assessment, involving the detection of failure modes and analyzing the maintainability and inspectability of the components.

Today our colleague Claudia Granados Vázquez is in Valencia attending the Sociedad Nuclear Española Technical Conference "Advanced strategies in the maintenance of nuclear facilities". During the morning she will hold her presentation "Strategies for measuring the effectiveness of life management programmes". These are her brief conclusions on the benefits of the AMP implementation methodology. #AgeingManagementProgrammes #NuclearEnergy

Our participation in the #NuProShip project, led by Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), developing tasks related to the Nuclear Island and the selection of the most suitable Small Modular Reactors for the sector, has led us to participate in the ‘International Conference on Nuclear Propulsion for Shiping’. Our colleagues César Hueso, Xavier Jardi Cuerda, Javier Santos, Yolanda Mugica Colilles, Cristian Garrido Tamm and Oscar Larrosa are taking part in the forum. Together with the other participants, they will discuss issues such as the challenges that the maritime sector must face to #decarbonize and stop emitting CO2 at the level of a country like Germany. This case is an indication the magnitude of the problem that is being addressed by using nuclear reactors as propulsion plants. The event is taking place on June 3rd and 4th at NTNU in Alesund, Norway. #SMR #NuclearEnergy
