Democracy is about people. The work of building resilient democracies that fortify meaningful participation for all people extends beyond analysis and observation. At IFES, our staff and partners work with global and local leaders to advance anti-corruption, inclusion, and technology for democracy, as well as the integrity of elections. Watch this video for a glimpse into the impact of our work and the passion behind it. This video was created with the generous support of Sida. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of leading the The International Foundation for Electoral Systems class of 2024 interns on visits with the U.S. Department of State and United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. Thanks so much to Charlie Kellett and Maggie Dougherty for sharing their unique perspective and inspiring these young democracy defenders and future diplomats!

Update from The International Foundation for Electoral Systems Nepal. 👏 🎉 We are excited to announce that five colleges (Janamaitri Multiple Campus, Central Campus for the Deaf, Thames International College, Lake City College and Research Center and King’s College) have launched IFES’s pilot course, "Democracy: from Theory to Practice". 🤗 This course is being offered for the first time in Nepal and the first time globally being offered in a college for the deaf. 🤩 This bachelor-level course has received an overwhelmingly positive response, with students demonstrating great enthusiasm and dedication to creating positive societal change through active engagement in the democratic process. All the students will be first-time voters. 📢 One more college will soon be launching the course. 🙏 We extend our gratitude to the Election Commission of Nepal and all our partner colleges for their collaboration and support in contextualizing and launching the course in the country. Together, we are working towards building a more #ResilientDemocracy, where #DemocracyDelivers and is truly #InclusiveDemocracy 🌟 #USAIDNepal, Janamaitri Multiple Campus जनमैत्री बहुमुखी क्याम्पस, Central Campus For The Deaf Naxal,Kathmandu, Thames International College Kathmandu, Lake City College and Research Centre, King's College
