It was an honor to host leaders from the University of Illinois and to share our vision for the Illinois Autonomous and Connected Track. 🚚 🚗
During the University of Illinois System Leadership State Tour’s second-leg kick-off, participants learned all about the future Illinois Autonomous and Connected Track, or I-ACT. It’s where the rubber literally will meet the road at the Illinois Center for Transportation in Rantoul. 🏎 At the facility, researchers will test electrified, connected and autonomous vehicles. The net-zero high-speed track will feature rural, suburban and urban test roadways, as well as a multimodal area. 🚛🚐 The facility will mark a big accomplishment in the system’s longtime partnership with the Illinois Department of Transportation. The partnership helps shape the future of how people and the goods they need traverse our country effectively and efficiently.
