Last year was a milestone anniversary for IEI, but each year comes with its own unique achievements, and we couldn’t let today go by without marking the 26th anniversary of IEI’s beginning. From our start as a two-person office in Chicago to over 180 professionals across eight offices in seven states, our journey has been significant. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our employees, clients, and partners. Your support has been essential to our success, and we value the relationships we've built. Big changes are underway on the roadways north of O’Hare Airport! IEI’s Chicago Construction Management group is working on the Illinois Tollway Elgin-O’Hare Western Access (EOWA) I-490 project at Touhy Avenue. The project aims to increase access to transportation and economic opportunities around O’Hare and includes the relocation of a section of Mount Prospect Road and the construction of a temporary bypass road for Touhy Avenue to redirect traffic while grade separations over the Union Pacific Railroad and I-490 are completed. The construction of the 100-foot-long box culvert over Higgins Creek is complete, and asphalt placement is currently underway for the bypass road. IEI enjoys a strong history of partnering with the Illinois Tollway, the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways, and prime consultant, Benesch. We appreciate the opportunity to play a role in this complex infrastructure project that will deliver innumerable benefits to roadway users and the surrounding communities. #IEI #constructionmanagement #roadwayimprovements #ohare

Steven Karlowski, PE, SE and Pankaj Kumar, PE, SE from IEI’s structural engineering team were privileged to be a part of the Addison Creek Reservoir project team that accepted an award for “Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement” at the American Society of Civil Engineering Illinois (ASCE) Section Awards Dinner in Chicago. As part of the Christopher B. Burke Engineering - Chicagoland team for this Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) project, IEI’s structural team designed spillway and debris piers, along with the intake, drop, and control structures for this 600-acre-foot reservoir that can hold nearly 200 million gallons of water. The project addressed local public health and safety concerns by reducing overbank flooding along Addison Creek. Thank you Illinois Section ASCE for acknowledging this project that will positively impact the surrounding communities! #IEI #ASCEIL #ASCEAwards2024

IEI, through the Infrastructure Engineering Foundation, recently sponsored the 18th Annual Oakland TSC Charity Golf Outing, where members of the IEI Detroit team spent a great day on the greens, networking with other Michigan industry professionals and supporting a meaningful cause. With each swing, the golfers helped raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which is dedicated to helping children who are battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
