About us
A vital organization in Colorado Springs, Inside Out Youth Services serves LGBTQIA2+ young people while educating, and empowering the community to become advocates on issues of bullying, safety and discrimination. Our community center is a comfortable, flexible space that provides a safe and accepting community where LGBTQ+ young people can freely express themselves, build self-reliance and connect to trusted adults for support and advocacy. Out in the community we, advance understanding and equality, while providing training to teachers, counselors and even bus drivers on how to make and keep students safe. Our TransParenting Support helps families lead with love while providing peer support and understanding. Our primary work is support and peer-led discussion groups with trained experts in areas of resilience-building, healthy relationships, substance prevention, life skills, and social justice. We offer drop-in recreational time, community outings, leadership and professional development, career and financial skills-building, free counseling, and a food pantry and clothing closet.

November marks the end of the 2024 Pikes Peak Safe At Schools Coalition, and as always, we will celebrate with an in-person meeting. In addition to the usual catered dinner and opportunity to connect with Coalition members, we are also hosting a student panel, which invites Inside Out young folx into the space so we can better gauge the school climates in the region. ✨ October IOYS volunteer spotlight: Julez (they/them) and why they volunteer ✨ "I volunteer at Inside Out because I want to show up for our community of queer youth who need support and a kind presence in their lives. In so many ways, I wish I had the version of me I am now around when I was a teenager struggling to find my place in the world. I see volunteering with IOYS as a way to pay it forward with kindness and compassion. To be a part of creating a space for youth who are trying to find themselves a soft place to land in this complex and tumultuous world." Thank you so much, Julez, for being an amazing IOYS Volunteer! We greatly appreciate your support ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤎🤍

Inside Out was honored to once again participate in the Colorado Springs World Affairs Council (CSWAC) international visitors program, where our program director Angie (she/her) hosted non-governmental organization leaders from all over the world at the IOYS community center! These programs help to deepen our understanding of each others' work and form stronger worldwide connections, and we always have a wonderful time participating. Thank you, CSWAC! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤎🤍
