The Toronto Irish Film Festival brought down the curtains on Irish Heritage Month in Canada - and Invest Northern Ireland – Americas alongside Northern Irish Connections & Northern Ireland Bureau (North America) were delighted to sponsor the closing film of the the Festival - The Spin - and the closing night reception. Well done to John Galway on a very successful 15th outing of the Toronto Irish Film Festival! It was great have so many friends of Northern Ireland in Toronto (and Montreal, huge thanks to Mairead Lavery for being with us)join us on a wet and windy Toronto eve to toast all that is great about Northern Ireland and our creative industries. Particular thanks to Cahal Sweeney of Consulate General of Ireland, Toronto & Nik Quaife of Consulate General of Ireland, New York for being with us, and for their support of the arts, culture and film from across the Island of Ireland. 🎥 Northern Ireland’s film and creative industries have grown significantly over the past two decades, establishing the region as a major player on the global stage. 🎬The creative industries contribute over £1 billion annually to the Northern Ireland economy and support thousands of jobs. The team and I at Invest Northern Ireland – Americas in Toronto are delighted to support the Toronto Irish Film Festival and its efforts to bring great films and stories from across the Island of Ireland to Toronto and beyond. We look forward to continuing to create connections between 🇨🇦and Ireland across the creative sectors in the future - and we are excited for St Patrick’s Day…Month 2026 to do it all again! For now well done to everyone who played a role on putting our small part of the world front and centre throughout March from St John’s, to Quebec, Toronto, Vancouver and everywhere inbetween. Never has the time been so important for Canada and the entire Island of Ireland to cement those historical ties and build an exciting future relationship across investment, trade, the arts, culture and more. ☘️🤝🍁 #northernireland #irishheritagemonth #torontoirishfilmfestival #stpatricksmonth

After a successful visit to the US earlier this month, our CEO, Kieran Donoghue, and Executive Director, Anne Beggs, reflect on a productive time meeting with our business development team, clients, prospects, key stakeholders and diaspora, where they had an opportunity to strength the ties between the US and Northern Ireland. They reconnected with leaders from key US companies in different cities, and also Northern Ireland companies that have established operations across the US, which demonstrates how investment travels both ways between the US and Northern Ireland. What a way to kick off my first St. Patrick’s Day 'season' working for Invest Northern Ireland – Americas! From vibrant celebrations to insightful conversations, it's clear that Northern Ireland is shining as a destination for business. The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of events filled with opportunities to connect and promote Northern Ireland. We began the season by hosting Northern Ireland’s Minister for the Economy, Dr. Caoimhe Archibald, and our CEO, Kieran Donoghue, at the Harvard Club of Boston. This gathering of over 70 senior business, civic, and political leaders provided an opportunity to discuss the importance of strengthening the transatlantic bridges between the U.S. and Northern Ireland and to showcase the North's vibrant business sectors. At The Ireland Funds Young Leaders St. Patrick’s Celebration, I had the pleasure to meet Ireland’s Minister for Enterprise, Trade, and Employment, Peter Burke, TD, and Ireland’s Consul General to Boston, Sighle FitzGerald. It was a fun night and lovely to connect with members of the Boston Irish community who continue to bolster the strong bond between our two countries. In between St. Patrick's Day events, my colleague Thomas Bartley Jr, MBA and I attended the Mass Technology Leadership Council Tech Top 50 Awards, where we networked with Boston's tech leaders and highlighted Northern Ireland's position as a growing hub for tech innovation. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners! I'd like to thank all our guests who joined Thomas and me at the Irish American Partnership St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast where we celebrated the day with lively conversation, Irish music, a keynote speech from Peter Burke, TD. It was a pleasure reconnecting with old friends and making new ones in such a vibrant and festive environment. Finally, I extend a big thank you to Mary C. Murphy for inviting myself and Tom to the conference hosted by Boston College, Queen's University Belfast and University of Galway at the beautiful Gasson Hall. The discussions, both during the fireside chats and in the room, were insightful and engaging. The common thread across all these events was building connections and reinforcing the message that Northern Ireland is an ideal destination to do business. With a thriving tech sector, a highly skilled workforce, a supportive business environment, and strong economic opportunities—including dual market access to the UK and EU—Northern Ireland continues to be prime location for investment and innovation. Looking forward to building on these relationships and seeing where the road ahead takes us! #StPatricksDay #NorthernIreland #InvestNorthernIreland #FDI #Boston
