At the 2024 Laureus Charity Night in Zurich, we auctioned off Lewis Hamilton’s Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team. The timepiece was offered alongside a pair of signed racing gloves from Lewis Hamilton, generating a winning bid of CHF 220'000, which will benefit the Laureus Foundation Switzerland. For the first time, IWC Schaffhausen, Laureus Sport for Good and Bonhams also collaborated on a unique global online auction. As a global partner of the Laureus Charity Event since 2005, IWC Schaffhausen will donate all proceeds of this auction to the Foundation to support its programs aimed at improving the lives of children and young people through sport. #IWCwatches Laureus Sport for Good Foundation Switzerland

Our perpetual studio goes to Hong Kong. Inspired by the contemporary IWC pavilion showcased at Watches and Wonders Geneva in April this year Hong Kong’s Perpetual Studio will shine a spotlight on the latest 2024 Portugieser Collection. The Perpetual Studio offers visitors an immersive journey into the world of engineering and fine watchmaking at IWC under the theme “Portugieser: A Tribute To Eternity.” Completing the experience, visitors are invited to enjoy the concept of eternity with specially crafted perpetual-themed drinks at the bar. #IWCwatches | #ProudlyMadeInSchaffhausen

In 2013, we embarked on an engineering collaboration with DLR Institute of Structures and Design to jointly develop the first watch cases made of a ceramic matrix composite (CMC). As the material is extremely resistant to thermal shocks, DLR had already used it for making larger rocket components and thermal protection systems but researchers were looking to adapt their short fibre pressing technology to make smaller CMC parts, and a watch case was the perfect candidate for this endeavour. The Big Pilot’s Watch AMG G 63 was born out of an engineering collaboration on fibre-reinforced ceramics that combine the hardness and scratch-resistance of conventional ceramic with the benefits of fibre composite materials, like high damage tolerance and extreme resistance to temperature shocks. #IWCwatches | #IWCbigPilot
