Even the most unique climates can’t stop us from safeguarding critical #transportation infrastructure. 🛳🌨 Did you know Alaska has the highest tides in the U.S. and more earthquakes than anywhere in North America? Adding to this challenge is the cold environment and endangered marine life that inhabit the waterways. #OurJacobs team is tackling these unique challenges while supporting the Port of Alaska Modernization Program, a phased program replacing aging port #infrastructure that, if not addressed, could soon hinder operations. Head to our comments to learn more. ⬇️ #BoldlyMovingForward #ProgramManagement #PortOfAlaska 📸: Photo 3 and 4 courtesy of Alex Herlant

#OurJacobs is working with the City of North Bay and other key partners to investigate and remediate PFAS contamination at Jack Garland airport in Ontario, Canada. 🔎 When PFAS was detected in Trout Lake, the source of the municipality’s drinking water, Jack Garland Airport was identified as one site of contamination, with the main source found to be PFAS in old firefighting foam. The scope includes a comprehensive predesign investigation, site-specific risk assessment and treatability studies to assess and implement remedial options for the impacted soils, groundwater and surface water. For one employee, our culture is what makes working at #OurJacobs special – ever since 1969. 🤯 Boston-based Senior Manager of Structural Engineering, V. Peter Lalas, joined us through the Sverdrup acquisition and has been with the company ever since. As our longest-tenured employee, Peter shares how we’ve evolved, his work on the Ted Williams Tunnel project, and why he has stayed at Jacobs even after 55 years. http://jcob.co/YBKB50TNIQp #BoldlyMovingForward #WhyIWearTheJ
