Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis provides essential services to people of all ages and backgrounds to sustain healthy relationships, ease suffering and offer support in times of need. We are proud to say that for more than a century, JFCS has provided programs, services, and support for thousands in the Jewish and broader communities. We provide help in areas including aging services, career services, children and family services, community engagement, and counseling and mental health support. Our staff is highly trained and professional, providing culturally sensitive and confidential care that incorporates best practices.   • Job openings – Adult Mental Health Targeted Case Manager and Development Coordinator JFCS is contracted with Hennepin County to provide Mental Health Targeted Case Management services to adults living with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI). Case managers assess needs and work collaboratively with clients to develop Individualized Community Service Plans to improve or maintain functioning across multiple domains; this often includes meeting basic needs, establishing mental health services, connecting to financial and medical health supports, and engaging in social and community resources. Case managers meet at least once a month with clients and continuously evaluate services to support them in their recovery and prevent hospitalizations. With advanced technical competencies, communication and training skills, this individual demonstrates a careful attention to detail and a strong work ethic, actively contributing to the advancement of strategic goals that serve to enhance donor relations and further the agency’s mission.   • Job Opening – Food Security Coordinator The Food Security Coordinator leads JFCS’ response to hunger, facilitating access to food resources for individuals and families while advocating for food justice policies and funding. They lead, plan, and facilitate outreach efforts, provide education and support to staff, and collaborate with community partners and advocacy networks. This role manages the Kosher Meals on Wheels (KMOW) program, ensuring daily operations and individualized, person-centered client support. In addition, they are responsible for the coordination of culturally sensitive emergency food boxes made available to callers and staff for their clients. The ideal person for this role is friendly, compassionate, and draws energy from interacting with others; is a good problem solver and listens actively to clients; has strong organizational and communication skills; is self-motivated to engage in a variety of tasks; and is passionate about combating barriers to food security. The ParentChild+ Early Learning Specialist (ELS) follows national guidelines in implementing the program with families. ELS provides visits to the participant’s home or community location, bringing program materials to each program participant. The participant can choose virtual visits as desired. The ELS models effective ways for parents or caregivers to increase their verbal interaction and prepare children for school success by learning through play with the use carefully selected books and toys that are provided.   • JFCS is currently seeking an intern to support a project in the Addiction and Recovery Services program. The Addiction and Recovery Services program provides knowledgeable, confidential, and culturally-sensitive programming and services to the community and within JFCS. We view addiction as a family disease and as such, we offer a variety of supportive services to families and individuals impacted this disease. The ideal intern will have experience in this area and a desire to support families experiencing Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Note that our program does not offer treatment, rather we offer referrals, consultations, coaching, education, and community programming. The intern will: • Conduct research, outreach, and writing required to create a comprehensive resource of addiction and recovery supports for Jewish individuals and families seeking treatment for all kinds of addictions in the Twin Cities. This includes in-patient and out-patient treatment, support groups of all kinds, addiction-focused therapies, and other relevant resources. Research may also include Jewish specific services across the nation. • Other activities and areas of focus may arise and/or may be tailored to the skills and interests of the intern. • Participation in occasional team meetings and staff events is desirable.   • Job openings – Community Services Director and Career Services Director Community Services Director The Director leads the Community Services staff in consistently delivering high-quality person-centered programs that address current and emerging needs and strengthen the Jewish and broader communities by helping individuals and groups build and sustain well-being and meaningful connections. This includes program development, supervision and support of staff, volunteer engagement, participation in fundraising, monitoring program budgets, and implementation of program-specific strategic plans. Along with program staff, the Director is responsible for defining clear goals and measures of success, collecting, and analyzing data, evaluating outcomes, and developing and implementing strategies for continuous improvement. Career Services Director The Director leads the Career Services staff in consistently delivering high-quality person-centered services that address current and emerging community needs related to workforce development and career development. This includes supervision and management of personnel, monitoring program budgets, participation in fundraising, compliance with funders’ requirements, and implementation of the JFCS strategic plan. Along with program managers, the Director is responsible for defining clear goals and measures of success, collecting and analyzing data, evaluating outcomes, and developing and implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
