As part of this mission, we’ve made an important change to one of our cardiac biomarker tests. 💡 Introducing NT-proBNP as the Preferred Marker for Heart Failure 💡 Previously, our tests focused on BNP (brain natriuretic peptide) as a key indicator for heart failure. Now, we are shifting to NT-proBNP, which offers several advantages: ✅ Longer Lasting Levels: NT-proBNP stays in the bloodstream 5x longer than BNP, giving a more consistent and clear picture of heart health, especially for early or mild conditions. ✅ More Stable Samples: NT-proBNP remains stable for up to 72 hours at room temperature, compared to just 4 hours for BNP. This improved stability ensures more reliable results, even in busy healthcare settings. ✅ Less Affected by Treatment: NT-proBNP is less influenced by medications, providing a more accurate reflection of treatment effects and overall heart health. This shift to NT-proBNP will enhance diagnostic accuracy and improve outcomes for patients dealing with heart failure.
