The end of the year can be a brutal time for HR professionals, as they work to wrap up accounts and activities for so many people, which can seem overwhelming. One common end-of-the-year issue for HR is FSA accounts for employees that expire at the end of the year. How can HR leaders keep their employees in the know about their FSA accounts with enough time and reminders to not let them run out? 1. Take the time throughout the year to remind your employees about their FSA account, and when the availability of the funds expires, by email, letters and notices mailed to their homes, and monthly check-ins with available balances listed. 2. Consistently remind them of the terms and conditions of their account and what expenses are eligible for. 3. Go out of your way to remind them of the expiration date of their account repeatedly.
